Front is a design group including four women located in Stockholm, Sweden. They use latest technologies to produce unique things. They find an inspiration in animal world, art, fashion and movies. Their project are original, innovative and extravagant. I think they choice a right way to achieve a success in design world. Below I present their work which for me are the most interesting projects.
Those furniture came into existence by technique developed by Front. This method let them materialize free hand sketches. Here is a description of the technique; ,, Pen strokes made in the air are recorded with Motion Capture and become 3D digital files; these are then materialised through Rapid Prototyping into real pieces of furniture.
One of the newest collection is magical. The key-stone was to make some of the object disappear to accomplish magical effect.
Design by Animals is collection which was actually designed by dogs, cats, rats, snakes and beetles. Above lamp was create by fly circling around the lamp. It was recorded by motion capture and materialise into a lampshade.
Lamp which responds to your movements. It wakes up to brighten the room when you enter , and lays down when you exit.
