Bespoke furniture - Fireplace design

The aim was to create a piece of furniture which enhances residential zones. An idea was to design a suspended from the ceiling fireplace whit distinctive shape and an abstract design that is appealing and an instant eye-catching. Organic shapes, sustainable materials and elegant style creating an eco-friendly and modular fireplace. Its unusual forms and design like intersecting lines, dramatic curves and interesting angles make it truly a piece of art.

Organic staircase design

Since I found those unique ideas for stairs design I think that I will pay more attention to those kind of detail in my future design. Original design of staircase can really add a specific character to an interior and it can became  a very decorative element of a room.

This is a beautiful stairs at the School of Arts in Saint Herblain, France, designed by Tetrarc Architects. This sculptural stairs remind visitors that this is indeed to be a place of creativity.

Stairs designed by HSH Architects. The staircase is in the main living area of a home in Prague. This incredible design is made from 10mm thick sheet metal, and there are no hidden suspensions keeping it, just wall brackets and tension.

Amazing creation by Atmos Studio. The stairs comes in organic ornament what makes them looking original. Residential project recreates the structural flow of the living spaces, incorporating the pattern of the house's skirting board into its form. In accordance with the greater layout of the space, which seeks to visually connect rooms and other living spaces, the risers of the staircase extend into the bathroom space below, stretching along the wall and around existing furniture,to integrate fully into the space.

Organic staircase designs by Eestairs. This striking, sweeping staircase features natural-finish wood steps and no rise, resulting in a see-through look that’s light and airy and great in open-concept spaces. The pattern of multi-sized white rings is a wonderful design.

Magician's house design

During second year at college I had opportunity to work in group with other students. I think that it was a grate experiences for me as I developed skills in negotiation and learned how to express particular views.

The aim was to create an illusionist structure including a curious wonder of what lies within to the viewer. Inspiration for building design was a deck of cards. Geometrical structures give the exterior a neutral and simplistic look this can mislead a viewer because interior layouts are complex and lavish in details. Neutral colours create a subtle and modern look. Utilisation of sustainable material like timber and glass meets environmental needs of the community.

The person we were designing for is a young male. He is single. His career is in the magic and illusion industry, his interests lie in his job. Magicians is a person who is self confident, determined and open-minded. He loves entertainment but he also needs a peaceful place where he can rest after work.

This is our final design of this building

Furniture- colourful ideas for boring room

Sometimes white and dull rooms can to be entertain by colourful furniture without need of make-over.They can add a fresh feel to any modern interior. Below you will find few  ideas.

Its a multi-coloured laminated beech chair design by UK furniture designer Anthony Hartley. This chair, named Mr. Smith the Second, is coloured beech wood with a high-gloss lacquer. Colour choices and slatted design emphasize the waviness of the chair.

Picture above shows tetris table designed by Jared Kohn. Tetris table comes in colourful pieces and the unit is is a combination of various shapes. It is cool idea as you can actually pull and place the pieces in the order to your preference as long as those shapes form a table design.

This is furniture collection called “ The Hybrid ” and produced by allê . Every piece of the Hybrid collection is multi-functional: furniture, lighting and décor.

The chair design by Dransfield and Ross is the contemporary furniture design called Louis XV Upholstered Ribbon Chair. The combination between contemporary furniture design and classic appearance of furniture construction keeps the particular furniture in great state of artistic furniture concept.

Above furniture of Yorkshire-based designer Anthony Hartley is bright, fresh, engaging and dynamic. It is an oak cabinet with a single multicoloured laminated ply drawer, hand sprayed and lacquered to a high gloss finish, with shiny metal legs. The bright shiny colours create a very tactile appeal as the unit begs to be touched.

tokujin yoshioka

Tokujin Yoshioka design is very subtle, delicate and it looks like it can be brake up so easily. I think that every piece of  Tokujin Yoshioka's design is amazing and unique and It will fit only to a very elegant interior.
Tokujin Yoshioka was born in Saga, Japan in 1967. After graduating from Kuwasawa design school in Tokyo, he studied design under Shiro Kuramata (1987-1988) and Issey Miyake (1988-1992). He established the Tokujin Yoshioka design office in 2000. His works include shop design for Issey Miyake, space design for Nissan, Bmw, Shiseido. He planned exhibitions Forissey Hiyake, Hermes, Muji and Peugeot. His product design series known as ‘Tokyo-Pop’,based on his previous ‘Honey-Pop Design, has been introduced by Driade. Recent works include a street furniture piece at Roppongi Hills entitled ‘chair disappears in the rain’. He is the recipient of many international design awards.
Below you can find a fragment of interview with Takujin Yoshioka which I found on ,,designboom'' website.

when you were a child, did you want to become a designer?
yes, since I was six years old.

where do you work on your designs and concepts?
everywhere, I’m always working.
when I’m eating, driving, when I go to bed... even when I sleep.

which project has given you the most satisfaction?
collaborating on Issey Miyake’s exhibition ‘making things’.

who would you like to design something for?
I would love to design a contemporary Japanese thermal bath.
and to collaborate with artists.

do you discuss your work with other designers?
no. but I discuss with technicians, researchers,
professors at universities...

describe your style, like a good friend of yours would describe it.
I want to move on.
... surprise people. in a simple way.
the reason why I select materials is not because they are
interesting or new, my constant research is how to make
materials even more interesting. this goes for colour too
and I’m integrating gravity and the surrounding space in
my designs.

can you describe an evolution in your work from your first projects to the present day?
it’s very difficult, my work is so recent.
I don’t think I changed much.
my behaviour is always the same.
I attempt to transcend banality with a form of experimental
layering that elevates the work.
my objective is to create something that no one has done
before.

is there any designer and/or architect,
you appreciate a lot?
Shiro Kuramata, Achille Castiglioni...

and those still working?
Jacques Herzog

any advice for the young ?
NO! (laughs)

what are you afraid of regarding the future?
(I'm always anxious...)
I generally don’t care about stuff,
but I fear the lack of stuff - by ‘stuff’ I mean, very broadly,
the physical parts, the ‘real-world’ materiality - in a growing
non-physical, immaterial world.
legitimation of stuff in the digital realm.
what will be the purpose of design?

Upcycling as a creative idea for rubbish

Waste Recycling is a process know by everyone. The process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value is called upcycling. This process let us reduce amount of rubbish. It also highlights a importance of recycling. Things like chandeliers made from old books, corks chair or straw lamp are more admirable, amazing and beautiful than thousands of furniture produced in factories. Upcycling is becoming a challenge for designers, architects, ecologist and everyone who have a sense of style and want to be appreciated by others in the design world.

Boom design transforms old atlases into stunning new light worlds.

Above picture shows Flexicomb lamp, which was made from drinking straws to create an amazing installation with light that changes mysteriously to the touch.

Laura Dot’s used old  book to design this amazing Chandelier cast.

Above picture shows chairs designed by Alberto Dassasso, the line of chairs, stools, tables, and lamps are made from discarded industrial barrels

This  chair is made from recycled wine corks by Gabriel Wiese. The designer has intelligently used the cork caps of the wine bottles, keeping the shapes intact.
